American University sent an email out to residents of Letts Hall and informed us that we will not be able to enter Letts Hall between the hours of 12am-7am and we have to enter through Anderson and Centennial Hall (which is connected to Letts hall) during those hours. The issue with this extremely last minute change is that in order to access the stairs and elevators in Anderson and Centennial hall only work for residents of Anderson and Centennial Hall because you have to scan your room/ID card to use them. Unless you have a student from Anderson and Centennial Hall with you, it’s extremely difficult to go back to your dorm room. I ask that American University either keeps Letts Hall open (where the elevators and stairs are accessible for anyone, regardless of what residence hall they live in) or at the very least, allow Letts Hall ID Room Cards to open and access Anderson and Centennial Hall stairs and elevators.
