Lora Den Otter started this petition to American Society for Reproductive Medicine

When our IVF clinic, following guidelines released March 17th by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, cancelled our embryo transfer, I was devastated. My husband and I have been trying to build our family for nearly nine years and have had to fight against so many setbacks along the way. After a couple of days, I resigned myself to the idea that it was something that had to be done to flatten the curve.

But over the two weeks since, I and the thousands of other people nationwide affected by these guidelines, have become increasingly angry that the organization - which claims to be committed to reproductive justice and the belief that infertility treatment is neither ‘elective’ nor ‘inessential' - continues to advise clinics to suspend IUI and IVF cycles indefinitely.

When governors across the nation have issued executive orders citing by name reproductive medicine as an essential service, and when other reproductive services continue to be protected, the ASRM’s guidelines seem more and more like a reproductive rights violation against people battling infertility. The ASRM plans to release new guidelines on 4/13. Let's spend the time until then raising as much awareness as we can.

Sign this petition to demand that the ASRM revise its guidelines to allow crucial and essential infertility treatments to resume.
