Without notification of the public, NEWS media sources have been created and marketed specifically to children within public school systems throughout America aired for decades in public classrooms as education sources. Schools air these media sources as educational material to children starting as early as middle school and when they are combined with politically charged brands, this can create pathways for indoctrination of US children. This allows BRAND marketing for these politically charged brands to draw in viewers later in life. CNN10 created a 10 minute “current events” segment for school systems to play for students daily. Many believe this is a BRAND marketing technique set into place by CNN decades ago that has had a lot of unknown persuasion in the development of fragile young minds. WE MUST NOT ALLOW such powerful political media Brand marketing techniques in our schools. 

 

It has come to public’s attention through the recent years that the CNN news aired on network cable is very politically charged and biased. AS is much of network cable news sources regardless of your party of choice. Media has become a political tool in America with a powerful influence. By allowing the BRAND CNN into schools, this marketing technique is creating trust within children that it is a reputable source for news for them. This brand marketing creates allows a powerful and dangerous influence in children’s political futures and the future of society. Though CNN shows unbiased reports to children in the school system, the issue lies within the BRAND marketing. This is the power of a BRAND. Brand marketing with enough positive experiences, creates trust, and respect for the brand and if we allow any politically charged networks to BRAND market with any educational material in our schools this is a dangerous path to indoctrination; whether or not the media aired within the school is biased or not the BRAND is. We must not allow our children to ever become political tools. This petition demands that CNN10 or ANY politically charged big networks to DBA and disassociate their brand name from ANY media produced for the purpose of education.

So that NO political party can use brand marketing techniques on children of America to influence their political future. This brand marketing and powerful influence by politically charged networks removes the power of political choice for our future. We must prevent paths to indoctrination of our youth. This is a simple solution which allows large news networks to continue to create Non-biased educational media sources, without association of any politically charged BRAND MARKETING. Brand marketing even combined with non-biased educational media portrayed this far in the education system might influence children to believe the network is trustworthy and NON biased which many adults see the bias within the big news networks in America.

CNN, FOX, NBC, ABC and many other networks have become politically biased throughout the years and we must PROTECT our children’s right for free thinking politically. It has been discovered CNN10 has been airing news in public schools for DECADES without the permission or opt out options of parents. This is a problem. This is brand marketing. This is the path to indoctrination and we must protect the power of choice within our youth. We must protect fragile minds and not allow children to ever be used as political tools. We must protect our education system from political influence overall and be vigilante in any effort of ANY markettechniques by politically charged brands into our schools. 

A simple compromise is to DBA any brand names of news media associated with political bias. If this was never a motivation driving the brand name CNN10 within the public school system then it should not be a problem to DBA the name. As with any other politically officialiated associations creating educational material for the public schools.
