Sigmund Freud was an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis. It is a known fact that Sigmund Freud over the years has lost credibility for psychoanalysis because of his use of the psychedelic drug cocaine. However, Sigmund Freud emphasized the importance of the unconscious mind, and a primary assumption of Freudian theory is that the unconscious mind governs behavior to a greater degree than people suspect. Indeed, the goal of psychoanalysis is to make the unconscious conscious.

Freud has theories on dream interpretation as well as a set of psycho-sexual stages. With this information I believe a course in the Psychology of LGBTQ is necessary. Why would I choose Freud as the foundation for this course? because Freud's collection of works together has potential to shed light on concepts that the psychology world has yet to ponder.

I have a complete set of psycho-sexual stages to add to Freud's already given stages, as well as a course outline that describes how everything links together. This is important to bring awareness to the human experience. It's time to propel the school of psychology forward.
