Free Health Care

For most of my life I have lived in Canada and there I enjoyed free health care. Whenever I got sick, I could go to the doctors anytime and get my sickness checked. I moved to America in the middle of high school and I was shocked by the health care system here. A daily check up was very expensive to get done, unless you had insurance, which was also expensive. Now when I get sick, I won't go to the doctor unless I know 100% that I'm not going to get better unless I go. This is not only dangerous for my health, but also the health of people around me. Also, having insurance doesn't automatically mean that all costs are taken away unless you have very good insurance. I do not think that the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about health should be if whether or not you can afford treatment- that in itself is a flawed mindset.
