Honor Departed AFGS Members & Our Family Histories

The American-French Genealogical Society recently updated their website and removed a page (view web archive HERE) that was intended to honor the memories of members who'd passed away. The deletion of these pages dedicated to departed AFGS members is the online equivalent of removing gravestones from a cemetery. Erasing these family histories and the contributions of these AFGS members is an abrogation of the organization's mission to "preserve and publish cultural, genealogical, historical and biographical matter relating to Americans of French and French Canadian descent."
We ask that the AFGS Board of Directors reconsider this change to their website and that they restore the memorial pages of these departed members.
