Urgent Request!!

The Issue

Dear Supporters, as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, "We are faced with the fierce urgency of now...and the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice." As of April 16, 2020 the United States has surpassed every nation on the globe with over 667,800 confirmed COVID-19 cases, and over 33,500 deaths. In the state of Virginia alone, there have been over 46,400 tested for COVID-19, over 6,880 confirmed cases, and over 1,100 deaths. And it is with a heavy heart that I appeal to you because my nephew, Robert Allen Fentress, Jr. passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 from the effects of COVID-19. I am urging every individual who have been effected in any way by COVID-19 to share and sign this petition on every social and news media outlet you have available to you. It is very important that every concerned citizen of the United States to be EXTREMELY protective of loved ones especially now. Do not be persuaded by political propaganda and false hopes. Is our Government providing the truth to our citizens? Our citizens deserve to know the TRUTH to protect themselves against this deadly disease. Our lives depend on knowing the truth, because only the truth can make you free. COVID-19 is a threat to every individual regardless of political, economic, social, racial, or religious ideology. Is the most powerful country in the world on its knees and at the mercy of this deadly virus? The citizens of the United States deserve to know the truth, and our families, loved ones, friends, co-workers, neighbors deserve to be treated with dignity and respect when faced with COVID-19. My nephew was considered an essential worker at Norfolk Naval Shipyard for BAE contracting. He was not provided with proper protective equipment and worked very closely with several other co-workers who was also effected by COVID-19. According to his sister, Toshiba Fentress, Robert was "refused testing when he initially presented himself to a healthcare facility and was sent home with an inhaler because he suffered from bronchitis."And according to Regina Mobley, WAVY-TV News, Robert "received test results two days after he had passed. We the family is urging BAE contracting to shut down facilities and compensate the families. We are urging FEMA to provide financial assistance to every family who have been effected by COVID-19, and to ensure that every American citizen can receive free COVID-19 testing in a timely manner with quicker results.
