I am starting this petition because I lost my 26 year old brother to a hit and run in Chandler, Arizona on August 31, 2020 at 8:01pm and the killer/s are still free. 

I am currently on a mission to get the laws in Arizona amended so that the day these horrible people that robbed my brother of the rest of his life, are brought to justice, so that they will be behind bars for longer than 7-12.5 years and loose their license for 10 years….

The loss is way deeper than that. The loved ones that are lost will not be coming back in 8-12.5 years. 

Why are the families of the VICTIMS served with a life sentence without that loved one sitting at the Thanksgiving table, or the Christmas tree, or celebrating another birthday? 

Where is the justice? 

Please help me spread this petition to amend ARS 28-661

“Felony Hit and Run – ARS 28-661 – Leaving the Scene of an Accident that Results in Injury or Death. Drivers involved in an accident that results in injury or death must remain at the scene or return as soon as possible. Drivers then must provide their name, address, vehicle registration number, and license.”

”A conviction of ARS 28-661 is a felony offense (as opposed to an Arizona misdemeanor). A person commits a Class 3 felony, punishable by seven years in prison, if he/she fails to stop and the accident results in death or serious physical injury.”

I am pleading with Arizona politicians to please revise this law. The penalty MUST be more aggressive!! 

IT IS MURDER TO HIT SOMEONE AND LEAVE THE SCENE, IT SHOULD HAVE THE SAME CONSEQUENCES!
