Here in clay county Indiana we are limited to ambulance service...don't get me wrong we do have ambulance care but it's limited ...just yesterday (July 9,2022) my aunt fell in her home. She is disabled and is a diabetic and she is a fall risk patient. Upon calling 911 our fire fighters (first response) was there in a matter of minutes to assist with my aunt's injuries..upon assisting her she had some bleeding issues that needed to be addressed by an EMT ..our first responders radioed in for an ambulance for her but found out that there was none available..they tried several times and then had to jump through loop holes in order to get an ambulance to assist my aunt..around approximately 45 min (if not longer) an ambulance arrived ..it came from Parke county...now her injuries weren't life threatening but just think if they were..you never know when a situation could take a turn for the worse..and without the proper services at hand it just might one day...our first responders were awesome...they deserve a big hand shake and an extra round of applause...(thank you) ...but if our fire department had along it's side an ambulance that went out with them when they received 911 calls everyone's situation would and could be a lot better..they have and meet the qualifications that they need in order to have the extra service to provide...so please help me in this petition to get the service along with our fire fighters...thank you
