Change the Amber Alert Criteria!

The current Amber Alert system needs to be updated to reflect all minors that go missing under any circumstance.
On January 12th, 2018 Jholie Moussa (age 16) went missing. After getting messages on her phone she told her twin sister that she would “be right back” as she walked out the door. She left without a change of clothes or a cell phone charger. She never returned. The next day her family contacted the police to report Jholie missing. They begged and pleaded to issue an Amber Alert but their request was denied because she didn’t fit the criteria. The police suspected that Jholie was simply a runaway. This was clearly not the case as her body was found two weeks later.
All minors that are missing should qualify for an Amber Alert. Runaways should still qualify for an Amber Alert because they are minors and their whereabouts are unknown. Please sign this petition to change the Amber Alert criteria. Let the tragic and unessesary death of Jholie Moussa save countless other minors in her situation. Let’s make Jholie’s Law happen!
