Scotland enjoys 25% of Europe’s entire wind resource and 11,000 people are employed in the renewable energy industry in Scotland.

The Conservative Government intends to close the RO support for onshore wind power, threatening the Renewables Industry, jobs and causing a crisis of confidence in infrastructure investment.

Onshore wind power is the cheapest form of renewable energy, based on EMR average bids:

Onshore Wind                              £81.94/MWh over 15 years

Biomass Conversion                   £111.66/MWh over 15 years

Advance Conversion                  £118.06/MWh over 15 years

Offshore wind                              £141.10/MWh over 15 years (including FIDeR)

Nuclear – Hinckley                     £92.50/MWh over 35 years

Swansea Tidal Barrage              £168/MWh over 35 years

To ensure onshore wind power remains the most effective and feasible renewable energy source for the UK, providing energy security, investment and jobs then we must act now before it is too late.

Join us! Together we can persuade UK Government to consult constructively with Scottish Government and Renewables Industry to support the lowest cost renewable technology.
