VVAF - Veterans Voluntary Assistance Force

Just a thought but how many veterans are in this country?
All trained to deal with situations like the recent terror attacks, all trained in combat first aid and so many have fought this very same enemy and their beliefs.
I think their is too many highly trained individuals working in normal day to day jobs who could help massively when attacks like this happen. I think every City should have a voluntary team of veterans who are kept up to date and ready to go and help assist the paramedics with first aid and the police with evacuating areas and assisting the public when attacks like this happen like a quick reaction force. Sort of like how a retained firefighter works.
I know many people who would volunteer for this including myself. What's the point of having all this training for it to never be used again, it may as well be put to good use.
I know a lot of people are thinking TA but the TA costs money (wages) etc, probably why it is not used. This would be voluntary and I'm not on about a veterans fighting force I just mean to assist the emergency services and ease a bit of pressure.
Lets get this put out there.
