UK Govt should stop charging £5.48 an email for visa enquiry

UK Government has started charging £5.48 per email for Visa enquiries. Calls cost £1.37 per minute.
While this makes UK a subject of mockery abroad more importantly it sends out a message to the world that visitors are not welcome here and we are not open for business. This will have a direct impact on UK tourism industry and businesses that rely on tourists.
No other major western country has such a costly scheme in place.
British tax payers with relatives aboard are also at a huge disadvantage.
This scheme needs to be reviewed by Amber Rudd and Home Office, if the services can’t be provided for free at the very least the charges could be reduced to just cover the cost and not fund profits of a private company.
