I am a psychiatrist, I work at a mental health centre in London. I am treating 6 young patients who are suffering from a very serious depression and their situations are very identical and couple of my colleagues are experiencing the same as well, mental health is not a joke people. I sent a letter to the office of the Prime Minister and also copied the Home Office about the terrible service being rendered by the UK Visas and Immigration Office but they couldn't give me a reason why these people are being treated this way, they are being mentally tortured.
I contacted several immigration lawyers to find out more about this on going issue, this is what I was told "visa applicants are being treated like they are not human and being taken advantage of, that things have even gotten worse under the Home Secretary Amber Rudd, it's like she has no empathy for people's life, they've had clients who were unfairly denied even after meeting all the visa requirements and have a lot of clients that are still on the waiting for almost 2 years considering that these people pay up to 9 times for application than it actually cost, that they are being exploited and no one is doing anything about it.
No one deserves to be treated this way, Amber Rudd or her children don't know and will never know what is like to be put on hold for more than a year, not having the right to work to support family and having no idea of how the application progresses.
It's obvious she's using her position to oppress these people so she is not fit to be the Home Secretary. This is why I'm asking everyone to sign this petition and make sure that she steps down immediately.
