Regularization of Iraqi asylum seekers
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
Thousands of Iraqi asylum seekers who arrived after the cut off date for the last regularization, which was 5 March 2007 are begin left to live for an indefinite period without any right ot work or benefits, or any progress towards settlement in this country. In 2012 the charter flight deportations of the Iraqis ended, but they are being told they must volunteer to return, even with the ongoing war conditions in Iraq. Many of those affected are single males , who are unable to move on with their lives. An example is Omar Issa Hassan. He is a Kurd from Diyala in the war zone of Iraq of no fixed abode and relies on friends in the Birmingham area to host him night by night if he is lucky. They give him a little money in the hope that he will survive.
There are countless others like him.
