There is a measles outbreak in New York City right now stemming from the movement. One single student who gets infected can ricochet into dozens of others being infected. Right now, 1 student in Brooklyn, New York infected at least 21 others.

And right now AmazonSmile, Amazon’s fundraising program, is connected to several different anti-vaccine organizations such as the National Vaccine Information Center, Physicians for Informed Consent, Learn the Risk, and Age of Autism. Many other anti-vaccine organizations are also linked to AmazonSmile for donations.

Facebook and YouTube have each faced criticism for anti-vaccine propaganda. Amazon should be added to that list.

AmazonSmile has donated $125 million to non-profit organizations such as these.

Measles is one of the most contagious infections. The outbreak began in the fall and, within a few months, there were almost 200 recorded cases. Nearly 20 years ago, the virus was declared eliminated due to the vaccine.

In Washington state, more than 800 students are being ordered to stay home from school amid a massive measles outbreak in the state.

A vaccine preventable mumps outbreak is infecting dozens at Temple University in Philadelphia.

If one single student is diagnosed with measles, all students are considered exposed.

If diagnosed, the disease can be serious and fatal for young kids. In fact, the disease kills more than 100,000 people a year, most of them under the age of 5.
