Eric Camarillo started this petition to Amazon and

On August 3rd, 2019 a horrible mass shooting occurred where at the moment I am writing this 20 are dead and more than 24 others are injured. Yes, among the dead included children.

A man walked into a Walmart, shooting innocent people, specifically targeting Hispanic Immigrants. Based on the demographic in the area, most were probably of Mexican heritage. As I read the news stories, and watched the videos, this hit home for me as my father is a Mexican-American himself.

His Manifesto mentioned several key things in regard to his motivations:

  1. He supported the Christ Church Shooter who killed 51 people during a night of prayer, who named his Manifesto: The Great Replacement.
  2. The attack was in response to what he calls a "Hispanic Invasion" in his home state of Texas. And that it is "their" fault this is happening.
  3. He states that his motivation to specifically target Hispanics came from the writings of Renaud Camus named "The Great Replacement".
  4. He basically wrote this manifesto to motivate other people who believe this ideology to follow in his footsteps.

While there is so much more I can write on this topic, I do not want to write more because I do not want this person to have the satisfaction that his message is spreading. In Summary, The Great Replacement, is a book that is built to motivate mass shootings like this one in an El Paso Texas Walmart and the Christ Church Mosque shootings. It spreads a conspiracy theory that immigrants are intentionally trying to replace American Citizens. As both shooters reference this writing in their manifestos as a primary motivation, with the Christ Church shooter naming their manifesto after the writing itself.

This is my goal with this petition:

  1. That Google, and all other search engines, will remove the writings of Renaud Camus from their search engines.
  2. That YouTube will take down all videos in reference to The Great Replacement and the writer Renaud Camus.
  3. That Amazon will take down all writings of Renaud Camus and any books referencing "The Great Replacement".
  4. That II Foglio, which is a French Website, will take down the writing of Renaud Camus or at the very least, that all search engines will remove this website from appearing when searching for that writing.

The Institute for Strategic Dialogue researched this term and found in April 2012 The Great Replacement was mentioned 3,431 times, a month prior to the Christ Church Mosque shootings it was mentioned over 20,000 times, and it jumped up significantly after the shooting.

Is this petition a little ambitious? I don't really know this is my first one but logic tells me this: If this writing motivated the shootings that I mentioned, then why would any company or search engine hold any of this information? Why not remove something that has successfully motivated over 70 innocent men, women, and children within 6 months of each other?

This petition may not gain much traction, and it may not make a difference, but I couldn't just sit and do nothing. Maybe the demands mentioned above will make no difference, maybe the shooters would have went through with the shootings anyway, I don't know. But if there was a chance that these writings motivated them, which seems to be clear from their manifestos, then lets do something to stop it.
