In the recent weeks, Twitch.tv has taken it upon themselves to force streamers to comply with advertisements interrupting their content. Some viewers are even getting them every 10 to 15 minutes, breaking their connection with the streamer. We no longer have the ability to stop this, and as content creators we are forced to see our viewers suffering at the cost of Twitch's poor decision. There has been universal dissent on social media for all of this, and all attempts to make the viewer experience better from users has only been met by Twitch changing their code to make things even worse. This is not acceptable for the long term, and this change is only hurting the site in a time when competition is at an all time high.

The primary issue with this is the damage it does to the streamer's connection with their viewers. Live streaming is not live TV, the purpose of this medium is to allow us as creators a chance to interact with our supporters in real time. How are we supposed to do that efficiently when we are constantly interrupted? How is a viewer going to enjoy the stream when ads are shoved down their throat right in the middle of the biggest play of the game? How do we have a good dialogue when a response to a question is blocked and context in a discussion is missed (A great danger to someone's reputation in these times.) And, my greatest fear, how is that one lurker going to feel when, possibly after weeks, they get the courage to say hello to a streamer and the streamers response is silenced by an ad? That viewer will be lost, and their confidence to join in further conversations may be forever set back.

We simply want Twitch to address this and listen to their customers. We understand advertisements are integral to revenue on the site, but doing so with this method is not the way to do it.
