Make Amazon provide a plastic free option

Make Amazon provide a plastic free option
Why this petition matters
Plastic pollution is one of the most dangerous threats to our planet and wildlife. This problem can not be ignored, as it the issue becomes worse and worse.
Certain companies like Amazon deliver many, many packages year round. In 2019 alone they shipped over 7 BILLION packages, and on average ship around 2.5 billion packages every year. Amazon, however, does not provide buyers with a plastic free option.
The amount of plastic that enters our oceans every year is estimated to be around 4.8-12.7 million tonnes according to the journal Science in 2015. However, this isn't only a threat to our oceans but the surface of our earth as well. In 2014, the first study to examine the amount of near surface plastic debris was published, this study showed that at least 5.25 trillion plastic particles (weighing in at about 244,000 tonnes) were floating on or near the surface. These numbers, however, are outdated. The situation now is more severe, and it will continue. Marine life ends up suffocating, ingesting, and being entangled in plastic far too often. In studies, Marine life has been dissected, showing that the amount of plastic in their bodies is increasing. The plastic particles in the air can cause acid rain and come in our own bodies as well.
I don't know how successful this petition would be at all, but I read about wanting a plastic free option from Amazon (an Instagram post by the organization Oceana) and thought it was a brilliant idea. I am not affiliated with Oceana. Please consider signing and maybe something will happen.
