Repurpose Vacant Church to Theater + Arts Center

Join us in our call to restore the old church at 400 Allegheny Street!
Remember walking to the movie theater on the Diamond? Remember Gardner's store front, Brian's Bakery, the little split level Cafe, the used book store on Penn Street, the neighborhood market on N. Montgomery Street?
There are some incredible buildings downtown and we're thrilled that Black Dog Cafe, D'Ottavio's, Front Street Deli, Finds, Allegheny Creamery & Crepes, Dutch Hill Chocolates, Hometown Market, Jem's, and many more have brought life back to our streets!
However, with the Library now moved, there is a lack of indoor community space on the Diamond and we think it's time to brush off the dust on 400 Allegheny Street, get everyone together to fix it up and create a beautiful, artistic space for all of us to share! IMAGINE! Movie nights all year long, walking to a play after grabbing a slice of pizza or salad, dropping into an open-mic night, watching your neighbors show off their artistic creations, seeing your favorite indie band, or listening to a local historian/author/etc while sipping on a latte or hot tea!
These things are not only possible, but would be a great way to bring visitors and business to the historic district!
This petition is just to get the ball rolling, to show that our community cares*
Thanks for signing~ We look forward to updating you on the progress of this project!
