Alter SEND protocol to hold local authorities accountable for breaches

Alter SEND protocol to hold local authorities accountable for breaches
Why this petition matters
The SEND code of practice is laid out to ensure measurements are put in place for children with special educational needs in a reasonable time with a high level of quality control.
However, in any SEN parent and carer community you will find an outstanding amount of families who have experienced breaches in this protocol while their child has had to suffer the consequences of this protocol not being followed in one form or another.
This is because local authorities don't care! There is no reason why they shouldn't breach protocol so it is breached in the majority of cases.
With this petition I would like to suggest the SENS code of practice is amended to fine local authorities that do breach the protocol. Some form of deterrent is required to stop local authorities putting SEN families through the physical and mental trauma that they currently do, particularly given that we are currently in the middle of a mental health and learning disabilities crisis due to lack of care during the pandemic.
We aren't asking the world. All we want is that they stick to the rules that they're supposed to, just like the rest of us are expected to.
