As a resident of the BGWC district in Lake Wylie SC...I am willing to pay for York County to take over the BGWS infrastructure. The high rates charged are not reflective of the service provided by Blue Granite Water Service (formerly Carolina Water Service).

I understand as a current  customer of BGWS, I MAY pay an increased rate to York County but assume this will be temporary as BGWC requests multiple rebate increases per year.

I am aware that I may also incur a cost of evaluation of the current infrastructure in order for York County to determine what the system is currently worth. This could be as much as $30 per household on the current system.

Water service in the BGWS area is compromised by infrastructure that is failing to provide consistent water pressure and guaranteed water to thousands of people.

We have a public safety issue due to lack of pressure in fire hydrants. Our children are affected when water cannot be guaranteed to our schools. We cannot water our lawns as needed from May 1st through October 1st.

We are at a critical point based on the issuance of a water ban in May.  The extent of enforcement of this ban by BGWS employees on a daily basis indicates the seriousness of the situation. The time has come for York County to step up on behalf of over 4000 citizens in the Lake Wylie area.

Please consider the cost of purchasing the existing water system before we incur additional unwarranted rate increases that will only raise the value and in turn the cost of cutting our losses.

I am willing to pay more NOW because I know that in a few months AND on an ongoing basis for years to come the cost of Blue Granite Water will surely exceed what YC will have to charge even with with an evaluation cost and buy out of infrastructure included.

Again, I am personally willing to incur the cost of AT MINIMUM the evaluation necessary to determine value and cost of purchasing the Blue Granite Water Service district.

Please don't leave us

Thank You !
