Travel made by immigrants working at Lancaster University to and from their home are professional costs. So they should be covered.

Lancaster Uni can either tap into world wide expertise without burden, or be regional in that respect. The choice is its own.

I support the international community at Lancaster and the wider university sector and believe they should be supported as they enhance the vibrancy and diversity of the community

As an emeritus professor of Lancaster University and one who came to this country originally as a non-EU citizen, I am appalled at the situation faced by current non-EU staff members. Lancaster University's failure to support its international staff belies its claims about having an 'international outlook'.

We need to be able to demonstrate that we really are an inclusive university - and that means enabling all staff to participate fully without the worry of an additional financial burden associated with working here

The university has claimed to have an international outlook, so it must support non-EEA staff financially!
