Why this petition matters

Started by Zyrus Baybay

Being a member of the LGBTQI+ community was extremely difficult for me. When I was younger, I lost my self-esteem because of bullies who treated us as if we were aliens with no place in the community. When my previous school allowed us to have long hair, I gained confidence. Because of that event, I'm gradually becoming more confident in who I am, and I'm finally free to do what I want. When I first heard about House Bill 4982, also known as the SOGIE BILL, I thought my entire life would change because I would finally be able to express who I wanted to be freely, but when the announcement at our college came, I felt like I was being caged again. I believe that having long hair does not prevent us from improving academically. Having long hair on campus not only helps to increase gender acceptance in our society, but it also helps our fellowmen to build strong confidence within themselves. Furthermore, it can protect us from being bullied because we are gay and have a short, especially if we are a cross dresser. I, along with my fellow LPCian, hope you will take this into consideration. Thank you very much, and God bless.
