As a student of Upper Darby High School, I believe it is unfair that we are not allowed to bring guests from outside of our school to functions such as football games, formals, and prom, etc. Many students at our school have this issue. The majority of our students have a friend or S/O that does not go to UD that they would like to bring as their guest. COVID being the reason for not allowing outside guests, there are many ways to help prevent it. You can have outside guests provide a negative COVID test or a vaccination card prior to the function along with masking. COVID is something we can not control. Not allowing guests at our schools functions will not affect the spread of COVID as long as the proper precautions are put in place. There are ways to be safe when having these functions without limiting us to the point where it is not fun or even worth attending. Imagine looking back on your high school experience and not being able to have the full experience or being able to attend one of these life memorable events. Thank you for your time.
