Why this petition matters

Started by Hassan Yusuf

Yumna is a Year 10 pupil at School in.  Currently she is excluded from the school and if approved by governors this exclusion will become permanent.

Whilst making representations to the head we realised that Yumna  and subsequently the whole family are being subjected to overt racism.

My name is Hassan Yusuf, I am the father of Yumna Mohammed who goes to School. Recently she has been permanently excluded from school due to a fight that occurred on the last day of school.
Which started a water fight taking place after school on the park near the school.

This whole incident could have been prevented if the school took their safeguarding seriously. The water fight took place at a nearby location called  Park. The school knew there was gonna be a water fight taking place after school as there was an email sent to all staff that day. I also know the school have a designated police office at their school that’s there for safe guarding however my question is why did no one think to go to the park where all the kids of the school was gonna be

Our request that Yumna's exclusion be re-examined was not taken seriously and was dismissed in a patronising way with the use of inappropriate language.  We have lost confidence in the leadership of the school and want parents to be aware of their failings.

Please help us publicise this injustice and help Yumna complete the most important years of her education without interruption.  This will not only help Yumna but countless other ethnic minority children who may enrol at the school in the future.

Please sign the petition.

Hassan Yusuf, Yumna's father
