We are creating this petition in hope of support towards homeowners being allowed to replace their outdated and inadequate old windows and doors, in favour of cost manageable and efficient UPVC ones in Findochty. In the current climate where the cost of living is ever increasing, with many homes and residents facing poverty, the costs of hardwood windows and doors are extortionately priced and not feasible for the majority of homeowners and families. We are asking our Local Authority and councillors to see sense and permit people with failing and damaged windows and doors have an achievable option which will save heat in their homes, save money and be energy efficient saving the environment in the process. Hardwood would not be such an unattainable option if as in the past, you were subsidised towards the cost of new ones of a certain type, but unfortunately this has now ceased.

We write this in hope that all people who already have these items, and those who would like to upgrade their homes come forth and sign. The oppressive rules set by the Scottish Government and Moray Council are unacceptable for struggling homeowners and families of Findochty. Please support us in trying to change this.
