Today I was suspended from school for talking Spanish infront of white teachers. I know crazy. Me and other kids were told to stop talking Spanish and only to talk English, keep in mind a lot of the kids in my class are mostly hispanic kids. We were told we’re not allowed to speak it and in response were told that we’re  allowed to speak our language cause we have our freedom of speech. I’ve never ever heard teachers say we can’t talk Spanish, expect for at this one school. We were told that they can’t understand what we’re saying so we just weren’t allowed to which was so ignorant because the conversation wasn’t even involving them. this is probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had and especially It having to be about race and language barriers. Please sign this petition if you agree that as hispanic people or just any other race that doesn’t involve speaking English  , should be able to embrace that side of them . This is shouldn’t even be a petition to start off with but this is actually soo crazy.
