Since March 2022 the government have stopped statutory sick pay for everybody including carers due to COVID-19. That then leaves loads of carers out of money and out of work due to COVID, since the rules have dropped and isolation is no longer required for people with COVID, they are able to return to work BUT carers are not, as we then put our vulnerable clients at risk and we cannot work, but we DONT get any support from the government and have no income which then leaves families short and with the increasing pay rises currently, a lot of carers are struggling just to live. I feel very strongly about this and I know others will too! Only the government have the power to change this and help families that are struggling due to not being payed!
