Education Minister Eva Lawler is starting a movement in the NT that will ban phones from being used in schools across the Northern Territory. Mobile devices will be banned in all government schools including HighSchools. Education Minister firmly believes that’s removing phones will help students become social.

As soon as news broke out that in 2023 that phones will be removed, all students became depressed and anxious. It became the topic of every conversations in schools. Especially in highschool. Students need their phones to study and to entertain themselves when they are free in school. This will increase their mental health and increase their intelligence. Students should have a right to call and texts families and friends at reccess and lunch. 

If the education minister is stopping the students from using or mobiles and electronic devices, then they will be a huge percentage level of depression increased in the students mental well-being. Students can also socialise whilst using phones, for example, a group in Darwin Middle School use Nintendo Switches to play online video games together, a group of teenagers play online on their phones aswell. 

Students need their phones to be used in HighSchools. If bullying isn’t tolerated then schools should have a program in cyber bullying and if someone bully’s you online, you should block them or leave your phone for a while. It’s that simple.
