I’m signing because the tenant Ian taking advantage of the situation and there is no help for landlords. My family’s situation is seriously strained because of the lack of rental income

I'm signing this petition to stop tenants from taking advantage of other people and other people's property. Tenants are mobile to move to a more affordable place while landlords are not free from their contract with the government to pay for taxes, fire insurance, and depreciation (operating lights, locks, water, garbage), not to mention the mortgage principle, interest, and legal contracts to provide timely for the IRS.

I support this iniaitive 100%, In September 2019 I leased out my property through a property management company to a Misty Odom & Mikimi Magnasay. Recently, tenant is claiming a COVID19 hardship and hasn’t paid rent since April 2020, her monthly rent is $2950. Currently, she is over $15,000 behind on her rent with no clear end in sight due to the Eviction Moratorium.

She recently served me and the property management with a legal notice stating her hardship and she has requested Economic Stimulus to pay what she owes me in back rent. There have been loud parties and disruptive behavior in the past couple months. I did my research I have come to find out she is not living in my property and in turn renting my property out on Airbnb for $330 dollars a night. She is indirect violation of the lease agreement and has been operating this for-profit business in the City of Orange without a business license and in a clandestine manner in violation of state / federal CARES act orders. I am trying to boot her out with the help of my real estate attorney’s and we have served her with several demand notices with no response. I wanted to put you on notice of her behavior as she is very feisty and combative, she is a scammer and is putting my property at risk.

I am very sorry for the people who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19. But more than that I'm outraged by the people who use this situation for their personal gains, covering illegal actions, and making harm to others. Decent homeowners deserve fair eviction procedures to protect their property and family safety.

I am outraged by the abhorrent behavior of these squatters! Hoping the family who owns the house can move into their home soon! Makes me very sad to read about their struggle. The laws need to change to protect the property owners from fraudsters!

This is not fair to the family. These tenants should be evicted.
