Why this petition matters

Started by Helen Green

Bill (78)my dad is  in a care home after 6 months in hospital after fracturing his skull & having a massive brain bleed. He defied all odds & lived but has been left brain damaged. In my opinion his care has at times been horrendous, injuries & neglect have occurred in both care settings.i have visited my dad on  daily basis since the 8/1/22. Just 4 weeks ago my mum got told she had a mass, suspected cancer. A week later before even the tests were complete I was told she had just 2 days to live. I bought her home & she passed 17//7/22.I didn't visit my dad until the next day, my brother & I were horrified to find him & his room covered in dried faeces, urine & blood stains on the wall.my calls of complaint were not taken by the manager, but before she had even  discussed it with me she emailed me serving notice on dad, informed the  police & safeguarding. A few days later we found dad in similar conditions which again I raised my concerns . I have  phoned every authority & emailed day&night as well as trying to organise my mums funeral. Emotional, frustrated & scared for my dads safety I shared my findings on Facebook  as I was desperate for help. The care home has now banned my poor dad ANY visitors. He worked all his life to be treated worse than a prisoner. But a prisoner is allowed visitors, human rights & unlimited toilet roll.. My dad hasn't been supplied toilet roll for over 5 weeks. I was allowed to take him one pack of handy pack size( he blocked the toilet with paper towels). He has been using ripped up father's day cards, masks & socks on occasions. I'm distraught & just want some one to be allowed to visit my dad for an hour a day to ensure his safety, take his snacks & his pack of tissues. Desperate for this to happen before my mum lin is laid to rest on th 11.8.22
