Many students like myself have found themselves this year with schedules that don’t work for them for whatever reasons they choose. However, the counselors refuse to make any schedule changes regardless of reason. Me personally, I wanted to make a few changes to my schedule, to prevent me from graduating with a core 40 diploma, yet my counselor still refused knowing this fact.

With one student, mental health issues were a concern within his schedule, and the school still declined. How can we let this happen?

What good are these teachers/counselors doing if they can’t even help their students achieve their academic goals? 

Not only for academic reasons, students shouldn’t be tied down to classes that aren’t required (Math, English, Science) Students should have the freedom to take whatever pathway they choose in life, including classes that actually interest them. 

I’m not asking for every student to have the ability to completely change their schedule, I’m asking for the staff to be reasonable.

Allow us to make changes based off of where we want our future.
