Why this petition matters

Started by Zachary Anselmi

Native grasses and flowers provide cover, sustenance, and breeding habitat for local insects and animals. As the grasses and flowers grow taller and are allowed to sexually mature they produce sustenance for local wildlife, they filter and oxygenate the air, they absorb excess water runoff and remove surface level toxins, cool the ground, build the soil, and keep water and carbon within in the soil matrix fostering an increase in biodiversity.

Meaningful and immense impact can be made by allowing willing Chagrin Falls Residents to foster their "yards" as native habitat for our local living creatures.

I propose this petition as a means of demonstrating solidarity and demand for a  more cohesive interaction with our local environment. This petition will serve as a basis for the updating of the Chagrin Falls code book to include the needs of a diverse community and planet in need.

We must make impact now, as local as we can, our very "yards". We can leave this land better than we found it together.

With the success of this petition, our voice will be heard, and we will take back the right to foster the land for Good.

"There is no cause more noble than providing voice to the voiceless"

*We will advocate for a code(1340.09) change to allow for grasses and flowers in lawns above 12 inches of height*
