While People might say that having our phones during passing periods and lunches might make people act less social with those around them. It would actually help them be closer with their friends and or family. Because it's not like students are texting their friends who are sitting right across from them, some students might have friends whom they enjoy talking to outside of the school. When we have that outside contact cut off due to not having our phones it can be very mentally straining on the students at our school, especially those who have close friends that go to other schools. We should be allowed to use our phones during passing times and lunch times because we aren't in class and aren't disrupting anyone with them. It is not negatively impacting our academics or our peers, If anything it is negatively impacting our mental health having to worry about our phones being taken away for simply talking to a family member during lunch or passing times, and I do believe that phones shouldn't be used during class time as it can negatively impact everyone in the classroom. But outside of class is a different story in which we should be allowed the use of our phones.
