Allow CCSD Students to Practice Basic Constitutional Rights

It has come to my attention, as well as the attention of many students across the Clark County, that the CCSD, a low performing, monopolistic, penny-pinching excuse for a school district, made the executive decision to punish and target any students taking part in the national walk out event to protest gun violence.
All we, the students, propose is seventeen minutes of one day to pay homage to students we see ourselves in. As students, many of us are afraid to go to school as it is. We shouldn't also be afraid to express ourselves. We only want seventeen minutes without punishment.
The event is simple: students walk out of class and sit out, while still on campus, for seventeen minutes. Each minute representing each student who unfortunately lost their life during the inhumane and savage massacre that occurred in Florida on the fourteenth of February this year. The walk out is set for the fourteenth of March, exactly one month after the shooting.
The Clark County School District, who owns most public schools in it's respective county, responded to the peaceful protest and memorial event by penalizing and punishing those who partake in the event. By doing so, they are disrespecting the first amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America that states giving those in America the freedom of speech, religion and protest.
It saddens me, and many people, that we now have to protest to be allowed to, you guessed it, protest. By signing this petition alone, you are defending the rights of the youth that are also the future of this country and this world.
As an adult or child, everyone deserves their rights. That's what this petition is about.
