Allow ASL 3 At Seminole Ridge

Allow ASL 3 At Seminole Ridge
Hello! My name is Broc Plancarte and I am a student at Seminole Ridge High School. I’m currently taking American Sign Language (ASL) 2 at my school, and I am super eager to learn more and more about the interesting language. With this being said, ASL 3 would be the next class me, and my classmates, would take in order to further my knowledge about the language. However, Seminole Ridge is pushing to not offer ASL 3 next school year, which would mean that me, and so many others, would not be able to continue ASL at Seminole Ridge. Personally, I absolutely love the language, and the attributes behind it. The characteristics that ASL would lose is tremendous. Those who were trying to go for their biliteracy seal on their diploma would be denied the opportunity to get it if ASL 3 is not offered. ASL offers a cord at graduation to those individuals who takes 3 or 4 years of ASL at Seminole Ridge, but that idea would be terminated if the language gets cut short. Another cool attribute of ASL is that we have our own shows, where we perform songs in ASL to our family, friends, and it’s a good way to fully express the language. This class means the world to so many individuals, including me, and to cut it short would be heartbreaking to so many. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
