Stop charging a sewer fee for septic users in Pelham, AL
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
The City of Pelham, AL charges a $24.30 sewer fee each month for residents who are not connected to sewer. Residents who have septic tanks are forced to pay a fee for a system they do not use. This is unfair and should be illegal. We want the City of Pelham to stop charging this fee. If the City of Pelham will not stop charging the fee, then we want bill HB142, 125611-2 from 03-MAR-11 to be re-introduced to the House of Representatives. This bill bans any municipality from charging a fee for sewer services on people who are not directly connected to the sewer system. It passed the House of Representatives in 2011, but was never enacted into law.
