Opposition to the Fulmer Valley Industrial Wind Turbine Project
Liberty Power of Ontario Canada is slating to construct 25 to 30 turbines in Allegany County. IWT Farm Companies only present their point-of-view. They intentionally leave out the downside risks to you and the community. They are here because the state has offered subsidies from our taxes and fees we pay in our utility bills. Their business is funded by these fees to the tune of 50% for their operation costs and 30% to 50% of their labor costs.

o   We believe we have an environmental and energy issue, we are not against alternative green energy sources.
o   We are against using our natural resources for the sake of supplying inconsistent, unreliable, unproven power sources with our own tax and rate funds. It makes no sense for us to be the proving grounds for an untested scientific method.
o   We also do not believe we should bare the environmental burdens for the sake of potential downstate energy needs.
 
o   Prove that wind energy actually reduces energy costs greater than other Carbon free or Carbon neutral sources?
 
o   Where is evidence that Wind Turbines can be a viable energy source without the use of other sustainable energy sources?
 
o   How will an IWT project provide local long-term employment?
 
o   Where is the data that shows our citizens and livestock will not have any long-term health effects from Turbines?
 
o   Prove that wind Turbines do not devalue our land or disrupt our farms and place of business?
 
o   Where is the evidence IWT’s don’t affect the surrounding wildlife including eagles, raptors, bats and other migratory birds?
 
o   Demonstrate that wind turbines do not interfere with telecommunication, radar, radio and television transmission?

Don’t give up your land, your rights and take on obligations to the IWT Farm Company. This is a major industrial infrastructure placed on our landscape that cannot prove it is a consistent and reliable source of green energy. Yet government officials are reacting without scientific proof, spending our tax dollars with the hope of reducing carbon emissions. Spending billions in the process and potentially increasing carbon emissions.

Submit an objection to the Town Board, County Legislators, and County IDA. Request that they create laws for the benefit of its citizens not to allow unproven technology to be built at the expense of our landscape and way of life.
