If people have had the virus it would be helpful to have evidence they have built up antibodies. When the science can prove that antibodies provide immunity for a period of time, knowing how many citizens have antibodies, and consequently immunity, will help get the country back to functioning more normally and help our knowledge of the virus.

It will also provide evidence of spread, effect of the virus on people with underlying conditions and help to work out the length of any immunity provided.

It will also help to scientifically work out the efficiency and number of antibodies built up and the pre existing conditions that may affect the build up of antibodies. This is important in helping to control the virus in the future. 

The antibody test is not being provided nationally yet, except for NHS key workers and care workers. Reliable tests are available and the Government should be making funds available and putting a bit of effort in so that everyone who wants an antibody test can have one as soon as possible.
