Kim Easton started this petition to All residents of Abronhill

We the undersigned ask that speed bumps or at least some kind of pedestrian crossing is installed in Oak Road Abronhill G67 3LF. The reasoning for this request is that there is a primary school in the street and certain drivers are not showing any consideration, in fact some are driving VERY dangerously and wrecklessly therefore causing risk to pedestrians lives. The children are encouraged to walk to school via the government AND the local council yet no safety aspect seems to be considered. It is the responsibility of all our residents to keep our children safe. There are certain measures in place near Abronhill primary at present but nothing at St Lucy's. St Lucy's children are as entitled to safety measures as any other children. In new build estates speed bumps seem to be the norm yet not in older residential streets. We seek to have the council authorise at least two but preferably three speed bumps in Oak Road, one at the top corner of the street to stop people leaving the street at too high a speed and a further one on the road up to the school to prevent people approaching at too high a speed. We also request double yellow lines to prevent inconsiderate people parking on the pavements where children cross the road to gain access to the school. This morning, 8th January 2020, the school janitor was out guiding children safely across the road to ensure their safety - surely this is outwith his contractual obligations?
