As a father I am starting this petition to secure the safety of my son and every child in America. We have been plagued with school shootings. It's appalling and demands immediate action. I propose having metal detectors and an armed officer of the law to monitor every public school in America. I believe that in our modern time this is what's necessary for the safety of our children. No child should fear for their lives to attain an education. Since Columbine in 1999, there has been a sad trend in America. And it won't stop until real action is taken. In the past people have blamed guns for the violence. This is untrue. Guns are not the problem. We need to implement a new strategy. Which would include beefed up security for the children.
