Power companies will soon be able to charge Australians with rooftop solar panels for exporting electricity to the grid, under new rules introduced by the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC).  AEMC chief executive Benn Barr said households selling their excess power back into the grid are putting increasingly unmanageable strain on a system that was not set up to be two-way.

Barr needs a wake-up call.  His money-grabbing industry has FAILED to respond to changes for two decades and now has the gall to punish its customers.

Australians have been pushed and pushed to divest from fossil fuels and attitudes and invest in solar power.   Power companies are set to punish households with roof top solar, for their own short sightedness in NOT upgrading their poles and wires in anticipation of a greener future. This is big business giving the middle finger to consumers who are doing the right thing in protecting the environment and not wanting to pay exorbitant amounts for electricity.

This is iniquitous. With this announcement, it is time the nation stuck a collective middle finger up the power companies and the greedy politicos who stand to profit from this action.

We will not have it.

We demand this policy be reversed.
