Encourage Facebook to deny political advertising on their platform that is false/untrue.
Why this petition matters

Facebook has already admitted their platform swayed the 2016 election and admits a significant number of their political advertisers lied in their ads. As the 2020 election is in full swing, Facebook has a duty to its users and to our country to vet its advertising. If it can’t do that because it doesn’t have the resources or the will, it should refuse all political advertising. Facebook is making millions of dollars. They have a corporate responsibility to, well, be responsible. Profiting from misinformation, which is exactly what Mark Zuckerburg does, makes whatever goodwill he offers by way of charities null and void. Intentions here matter. His taking the defense of free speech just doesn’t fly. His platform offers plenty of space for public discourse about politics and free speech fuels it. This part seems reasonable. However, not preventing intentional deception from stirring the masses is at its best, irresponsible and at its worst, corrupt. When you take money to promote lies, especially lies that sway our elections, you are spreading a social virus that damages our democracy and for which there is no cure. Please sign this petition and forward to all you know.
