Byron Winzenried started this petition to Mountain Gate Community and Redding Ca.

Supposedly the EPA has come down on the Lehigh cement factory in the past but as soon as they stop, the factory starts up again creating the dust that falls down on us, slowly killing us as we breathe it in. There seems to be no thought as to how the dust settles on our property or that it’s in our air, all so they can enjoy a higher profit. This happens mostly at night when you can’t see it. The evidence is left on our vehicles, skylights and solar panels and in our lungs as they are continually irritated. Silicosis is a horrible way to die. Please don’t let them put their profit before our health.
If you complain to the factory they tell you to use vinegar on your car windows…but nothing is mentioned about the damage to the paint, metal, houses, yards, plants that the dust settles on or our lungs as we and our animals breathe it in. Even using vinegar it doesn’t stop the continuous fall of dust. It doesn’t always come off clean, leaving residue to cloud windows up making driving a hazard. And we’re not talking about washing the windows/cars once in awhile but every single day! Most often using sharp objects to scrape the dust off as best you can. Now include everything else on your property that’s outside because yes, dust is settling on your beautiful house, windows, lawn ornaments, EVERYTHING!
Please help us to stop this from happening in our community. What they’re doing is a crime & they have been warned & cited in the past. Sadly it effects all of us young and old, human and animal. This action is a blatant disregard to our property and lives.

We want stronger regulations and changes that will eliminate the cement dust polluting our air and harming our lungs. It takes a community to make changes happen. Please help us make a change. Thank you.
