Let the children play

As it stands right now, children who are home schooled, or who participate in a home study program are not allowed to participate in extracurricular and interscholastic programs.
All we want is to have our children have the opportunity to participate in these activities. Since we are residents of the state and pay taxes which fund these schools and programs, we feel it is our right to be able to participate. This is under the idea that home school/study children are held to the same academic standards. This would also protect the schools from being disqualified from competitions or keep them from being penalized for allowing to participate.
Georgia Senate bill 253 will provide the legal opportunities to allow this to happen. Alabama and Florida already allow home school/study children to participate in their programs.
