Riva Sarkar started this petition to Arvind Kejriwal (Chief Minister of Delhi) and

We stand at the brink of a very destructive ecological crisis today in 2019. And while there are many aspects to it and many factors involved that have led to this crisis we, the common people are a big part of it. Thus it is our basic duty and frankly a necessity to do our bit to avoid facing extinction of our species. One way to start is by managing our wastes. Since most of us do not segregate wastes and have never been in the practice to do so it becomes very hard to manage and separate waste at later stages of recycling and hence most of the time even recyclable waste has to be thrown away. So our starting point should be segregation of waste into dry and wet wastes. Make separate bin bags/ dustbins to segregate them and when we throw them make sure to tell the person who collects our garbage that which bag is which. This one small effort if done collectively can bring a huge change.
