Steve Rosenberry started this petition to All News Media

We, the undersigned, call upon all national, regional, and local news media, in any format, to ONLY report general election results from a state after official certification of those results by that state, and to NOT prematurely announce any early available results or any forecasted results based upon exit polls or other statistical methodology.

Additionally, we ask that no state or local electoral board, bureau, commission, or other body responsible for tallying general election results disclose any results prior to their state's official certification.

We respectfully request this accommodation for all national, state, and local general elections held November 3rd, 2020 in recognition of the following:

1) Many voters are exercising their right to vote early.

2) Early voting methods logistically or legally may preclude states from having official results available for reporting on Election Day.

3) In-person voting the day of the election may not be representative of the general electorate potentially introducing large systemic statistical errors in any early results readily available on Election Day.

4) Premature, erroneous pronouncements of winners may irreparably undermine the electorate's confidence in the election results to the great detriment of the United States democracy.
