Tom Brady for Babson 2019 Commencement Speaker!

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

Hello Babson!

Graduation for the Class of 2019 is just sixteen months away and it's time to start thinking about how we can make this the most amazing graduation ceremony of all time.  After all, we are the Centennial Class!  Nothing makes a graduation great quite like commencement speaker and we deserve to have the best speaker there is.  We deserve to have the greatest quarterback of all time and the hero of New England, Tom Brady, as our commencement speaker!

Now if you're a Patriots fan, a Brady admirer, or just someone who appreciates a winner then hopefully you're already on board with this plan and ready to sign the petition; however, if you're skeptical and thinking "why should Babson, a business school, have a quarterback as its commencement speaker" then I'd like to take a moment to show why Tom Brady is the PERFECT person to represent the Babson community and Class of 2019.

- Commitment to Excellence: at Babson we are all hard workers, Biz. E Beavers, and put our best foot forward day in and day out.  Tom Brady is the exact same way.  Coming into the league as a 6th round draft pick, Tom Brady worked his butt off to earn a place on the roster and ensure that he would be ready to succeed when his opportunity came.  Even after winning five Super Bowls and becoming the most accomplished player in the history of the NFL, Brady is famous for being the first person to arrive at practice.  His work ethic and commitment to excellence is unrivaled.  As coach Bill Belichick said, "I don’t care if it is May, August, or January, Tom Brady gives us his best every time he steps on to the field" -- just like how Babson students give their best every time they step up to the front of the classroom for a presentation or answer the phone for an interview.

- Entrepreneurial Though & Action: Brady is so much more than just a football player.  Like so many Babson students and alumni, Brady is an entrepreneur.  For example, Brady has used his name recognition to build his brand, TB12, into a health and wellness empire.  This fall Brady released his book, The TB12 Method, and it immediately became a #1 New York Times Bestseller.  He has also successfully released a TB12 method app, TB12 branded supplements, and started his own training center.  Brady's expert brand building shows that he is committed to ET&A and has many business lessons to pass along to Babson students.

- Global Mindset: Brady may play for a Massachusetts team, but he is an international figure and embraces that role.  This past summer Brady toured China and Japan, interacting with the people there, learning about their culture, and teaching them about his own.  For example, he posted photos to his Instagram account of him practicing Tai Chi, learning calligraphy, and even sumo wrestling.  Brady's openness to learning about new cultures shows he has a global mindset that rivals any Babson students.

- Collaboration: football is a team sport and Brady is the ultimate team player.  He is committed to helping his teammates improve, such as when he stayed late every day after practice to work with newcomer Brandin Cooks.  He is also committed to making his teammates feel welcome and like they are part of the group, such as when he took a fun-loving selfie with newcomer James Harrison.  Every Babson student has done countless group projects and most likely encountered problems along the way.  We could all learn something from Brady about how to be a good teammate and succeed as part of a cohesive group.

So what are you waiting for?!  Sign the petition to make Tom Brady the 2019 commencement speaker and to make the Centennial graduation the most legendary graduation ceremony of all time!  Once we get 283 signatures we will submit the petition to Kerry Healey to show her that the Babson community has spoken and that we want Brady!
