Kalpataru Tripathy, Advocate started this petition to All Media Houses and

These days it is so common to see headlines, such as: "A Dalit Woman...", "A Muslim Boy...", "A Group of Hindu Fanatics...", "A Christian group...", "A Sikh...", etc, etc... in almost all TV Channels, Newspapers, and other media sources.

I urge the media houses and all journalists to stop using the WORD used in such messages which refers to a particular caste, creed, religion or community, while spreading or showing such news. If something wrong has happened somewhere, or with someone, it is wrong, irrespective of the caste, creed or religion of that person/victim. If the aggressor was wrong, it is wrong, irrespective of the caste, religion or community of that aggressor.

Such words only spread more hatred. Why can we not stop linking a wrongful act with a particular group, religion or community. This will help in reducing the already higher level of disharmony that has currently (more than ever) affected our society to a large extent. I urge an immediate advisory be issued by the Government, and a new law be brought in soon to stop any journalist, media house from using such method of communicating any incident.

Please sign this petition for building a better tomorrow for all of us.
